Creative Balance Academy
How can biometrics positively impact the way children learn in primary school? Children are spending more time online and with electronic devices at home and during their school day which can negatively influence their development.
This speculative design project draws together the visual presentation of statistical data and analysis in a common brand, provoking consideration of challenging questions about privacy, supervision and personal data.
The Creative Balance Academy (CBA) asks how we can embrace technology and use it can support positive change in education. Through biometrics (a tracking school badge) information is open for teachers, parents, and children in order for them to support positive practical change. Data can help teachers balance their lessons, give unbiased reports for parents, and cater to each child's individual learning style and progress.
CBA aims to bring balance back to classrooms by measuring time spent offline or online, Creatively or Academically, and in focus or relaxation, and encouraging a balance in time between all categories.
